History
Elaine Wharton started training in Taekwondo at Leeds University in 2002 under the Instruction of Paul Landreth-Smith and Stuart Wilks. As well as attending the University classes Elaine would also frequently attend Leeds Public Classes run by Paul Landreth-Smith and under the instruction of Steve Bruce.
On leaving university Elaine continued to train at the Leeds Public Taekwondo classes with Steve Bruce. During her training Elaine gained her Assistant Instructor qualification and would frequently assist small group during class and on occasion take the full class when needed.
Elaine went on to gain her 1st Degree Black-Belt in 2005 with the BBSI (Black Belt Schools International) in Doncaster. She has every intention of going for her 2nd Degree Black Belt in the not to distant future. Elaine has also attended various seminars to broaden her knowledge since becoming a black-belt.
Elaine has not done any competitions as she decided that she had done quite enough of that as a child with dancing competitions and simply wanted to enjoy Taekwondo at a non-competitive level.
Elaine has a number of years of teaching experience although this did start teaching very small children to dance so she is happy to now be teaching those who do not spend the first 30 minutes of every lesson crying for their mum.
In 2010 Elaine became a fully qualifed instructor after completing her instructors course with Murrays Taekwondo.
Elaine is approachable and friendly and if you have any queries involving training or the meaning of life in general (It’s 42, by the way) then she is more than happy to help.
