Equipment costs, e.g. suits and pads

Suits are not compulsory - you can wear loose-fitting clothing, e.g. T-shirt and jogging pants. However if you wish to grade, compete or attend seminars you will need a suit. Typical cost is about £32.

Sparring Pads: - not compulsory, but without pads (safety equipment) you will be restricted to non-contact sparring only. Minimum requirements would be hand and feet pads, but it is recommended to get shin guards, head guard and for males a groin guard - also a gum shield. See the equipment webpage for price details.

GRADINGS are not compulsory and you always have the option to either grade or not - you will never be forced into taking a grading. They are there for you if you want to test for the next belt.

Costs: £25 for a beginner grading, single grading or an assessment grading. £40 for a double grading - see grading tab for details.

£100 for a Black Belt grading (regardless of Dan).

Successful gradings will include a new belt and a certificate.
